About me:
Greetings! My name is Yahtree Polarus. Most people call me Yahtree. If you’re my cousins, you’ll call me Yaht. If you’re my mother, you’ll call me Yahty. If you’re the military guard, you’ll call me a Runner, a Wilder, a Diver, or if you’re feeling particularly nasty, you’ll call me a Dirty. If you’re the Central Time Senate, you’ll call me a Trespasser. If you’re the Greater Zaelian Exchange, you’ll call me a Salvager. If you’re the Encyclopidae Geshmelehan, you’ll call me a Wildrunner. And if you’re me, you’ll call me an explorer (with a lower case “e”).
If you’re reading this, you exist in the same “paraverse” as myself, but in a different “universe.” A paraverse is a potentially infinite set of parallel universes that exist within and alongside one another, each of which share a beginning. This means that, although our temporal and physical realities are separate, under the right conditions, it is possible to transmit meaningful informational patterns.
Through a remarkable series of events, I have discovered a way to transmit sights and sounds from my universe into yours using a device of unknown origin that I stumbled upon during one of my many expeditions into the Wildwaste of Khaia (KI-yuh). Regrettably, as with most functioning artifacts one finds in the Wildwaste, I have no idea how it works, and I must consider it likely that I never will. However, the device has not killed me yet (an all-too-common concern), and so I am delighted that it works at all. If I manage to uncover its secrets, I will show them to you in the hopes that you, whoever might read this, may one day respond in kind with sights and sounds from your own universe.
Until then, I will send you all the information I can muster regarding my world, my universe, and the paraverse itself. May your path carry you safely through your own world, whatever strange and remarkable dangers it contains! Eviva!
